Su-22, a fighter-bomber with variable-sweep wings has been the pillar of attack capabilities of Polish Air Force for over four decades. Adapted to perform precise attacks at low-altitudes, it coped in difficult operational conditions in a perfect way. Its design assured high durability, flexible armament configuration, and the ability to operate with minimum ground support.

The reliability of Su-22 would not have been possible if it wasn’t for the excellent preparation and technical expertise of mechanics and ground engineers who were taking care of every detail, making sure that the machines are combat-ready. It is thanks to them that the aircraft could fly fully airworthy for decades.
It is also necessary to mention pilots who mastered Su-22. The demanding flight characteristic, high speed and the need to operate at low altitudes made Su-22 a machine for the best – only the best-trained pilots could use its capabilities in full.
During AirSHOW Radom 2025 Su-22 will present itself in an air display with elements of a simulated air strike and pyrotechnics, and in the static display zone where visitors will have a chance to take a close look at the machine and meet pilots and service crew members.
It is a goodbye for the machine that has been a symbol of precision and reliability of Polish military aviation for years.
Su-22 is leaving the skies, but will remain in history and the memory of those who created it.
